Lea has taken the time to outline her past experiences with the game and industry. For those that aren't familiar with her, please read on below, and join us in welcoming her to the team! Keep an eye out for her in region chat! :)
Heya everyone! My name is Lea, and I am happy to share with you that as of today, I will assist our much-loved Carol as new Community Admin!
Some of you, especially from the German community, already know me as Shileah. For those of you that don’t, let me tell you a bit about my involvement with Dark Age of Camelot and the gaming industry:
Like many others, DAoC was my very first MMO experience. I started playing two weeks after EU release and got instantly hooked with the game. When the Eyes and Ears volunteer guild project began with ‘Sterne von Stonehenge’, I was one of the first few to help players and gamemasters alike. I soon joined the team of people that were working on the localisation of Dark Age of Camelot, initially as a freelance agent and later at GOA in Paris. I met many of you at Gamescom, which I attended for many years, and at the various real life community meetings - Neckarzimmern represent!
I left GOA when they made the move to Ireland, but stayed in the industry and worked for other MMORPGs and in various positions. Dark Age always stayed in my heart and when I returned to the game a few years ago, I soon picked up where I left and provided the German speaking community with translations of the Herald content and assistance of all kind. I joined the ranks of the Knights of the Round Table, and to my great delight Broadsword now welcome me to their team! Although my focus will be on the German speaking part of the community, I will be there for each and every one of you and I am very much looking forward to it!
I will of course continue with localising the Herald content for you, and I sincerely hope that my work for Broadsword will make your experience with Dark Age of Camelot an even more joyful and exciting one.
Happy hunting everybody - for the realms!
Lea
