Live Server Maintenance

Posted by John Thornhill | 2015 Mar 03 17:46 -0500 GMT

UPDATE2 7:30 PM EST: All servers are now open. Notes are listed below.
UPDATE: The servers should be back up by 7:30 PM EST / 12:30 AM GMT

Greetings all,

The Live servers will be coming down immediately to address a server crash. We'll update this post here once we have a solid estimate on the servers returning.

  • Casual Groups can no longer have more than one minotaur relic carrier in the group at a time. This fixes the server crash.
  • Horse speed should once again function at the intended velocity: Speed 5.

King's Tournament Leaderboard Correction Notice

Posted by Development | 2014 Oct 01 15:55 -0400 GMT

Players, since this is our first King's Tournament, we expect there will be a few kinks to work out. Here's the first of hopefully few.

We've been tracking and checking the leaderboard numbers all day and we recently discovered a mistake in our script such that it considered RPs earned by some players yesterday as valid for the tournament. This isn't fair and we're going to correct the situation now.

To be clear: no data is changing; no earned RPs have been lost. We're simply making a change to our tournament script to ensure that we exclude any RPs earned before 12:00 AM October 1, 2014 from consideration.

When we make the change, you'll notice a big shift in the current King's Tournament rankings on the next hourly update. This is expected and the new rankings will be correct and official.

Picking Up The Torch

Posted by John Thornhill | 2014 Sep 28 14:33 -0400 GMT

Greetings friends,

I couldn't be more excited about the future of Dark Age of Camelot! Talal has been a great ambassador of the game and a visionary leader. I only hope to partly fill his shoes and carry on the torch he has made so bright.

For those that don't know, I've been the Lead Designer on the team for quite some time now and am intimately familiar with our current and future plans. Speaking of those plans, I'd like to outline the next patch cycle for you as well as the general focus and resources of the team for the foreseeable future.

Passing The Torch

Posted by Talal Saad | 2014 Sep 28 14:25 -0400 GMT

Friends and Realm mates,

It’s a time of great change for Dark Age of Camelot. This era of new beginnings started with the transition of DAoC from Mythic to Broadsword. We saw more change when we, as Broadsword, invested time and energy into revitalizing Camelot, developing interesting new content, and adding new and updated elements to the game with the goal of reminding the world that there was never - and will never - be a finer PvP MMO than Dark Age of Camelot. The evolution continues!

My Grab Bag Got Stuck In The Overhead Bin

Posted by Development | 2014 Jul 27 23:04 -0400 GMT

Today's Grab Bag is devoted entirely to questions asked as a result of Friday's Producer's Letter

They're great questions and we're really pleased to be able to provide the answers. We have questions about the adjustments to New Frontiers, the addition of 5 new Champion Levels, improvements to the LFG window and more!  Without further ado - your Grab Bag:

Q: how about sending everyone a free 15 day time code after the change give everyone a chance to experience?

A: We’d be happy to do a ‘Come Back To Camelot’ campaign around the time we release the adjustments to NF as well as the Champion Level updates! We’re excited to have the Frontier population increase so that everybody gets the chance to experience some awesome action! We’ll follow up with announcements on when it will take place, and rest assured it will be long enough for players to get their opportunity to play.

It’s been some time since we’ve reached out to you to talk about our plans and vision for Dark Age of Camelot for both near and long term.

In the time since our last communication, we’ve been hard at work putting into place the foundation for the exciting updates and improvements we plan to release for our venerable game. In recent Grab Bags, we touched on a few of these updates, but I would like to give you a solid breakdown of what we have on the burner, and touch on the priority and reasoning behind our plans.
