1.121 Hot Fix and Client Update

Posted by John Thornhill | 2016 Jul 28 13:48 -0400 GMT
Folks,

1.121 has been out for a couple days now and the action has been fantastic and we've loved reading your feedback! We've been hard at work making sure everything's running as smoothly as possible by squashing all of the bugs we can. A HUGE thank you goes to all of you who have helped us by reporting any bugs you all have come across, please continue to do so!

Check out the notes below:

Bug Fixes

  • (Client) The mouse look toggle feature should once again function as it did prior to 1.121.
    • Please note if you're currently logged in you'll need to log out and re-run the patcher to get this update.
  • The new single-target instant heals given to Clerics, Druids, and Healers will no longer fire on targets at full health, preventing unintended power consumption.
    • The Paladin's group instant heal will still not fire on targets at full health but will cause power to be consumed as it's a group-targeted spell and cannot be prevented from doing so.
  • The Paladin's level 12 Chant of Stamina should pulse correctly now.
  • The Warden's self endurance chant should no longer share a re-use timer with other abilities.
  • The Runemaster's pulsing bladeturn spells now appear in the Suppression specialization line at the correct levels 36 and 46.
    • Please note that a respec will need to be performed to see this change.
  • Several spell level values in specialization lines have been corrected to display the correct level of the spell.
  • Warlocks' should no longer get double-deathblows on targets killed with Doom's damage over time spell.
  • Offensive and Defensive proc buffs on several classes should no longer give an error when the user has another player targeted with an active proc spell.
    • Please note that this fix will result in some lower level versions of offensive and defensive procs to overwrite higher level versions.

Changes

  • Archery's new elemental shots (Somatic, Entropic, Lithic, and Tempestuous) have had their quickbar icons updated.
  • The Touch of Death line of poisons has had its quickbar icon updated.
  • The Assassin's Blur ability can no longer be cast on themselves.
  • The Assassin's Envenom poison proc buffs can no longer be re-cast on the assassin if that particular buff is already active.
  • The Assassin's Shadow Seek buff can no longer be recast if its already active.
  • The Light Tank's stance buffs can no longer be recast if that particular stance is already active.
  • Active chants, songs, and other pulsing spells should no longer cause the Assassin's Overshadow buff to expire prematurely.
  • Shaman's Caustic Carapace spell can no longer be cast on Buggane's Obelisk.
  • Friar's high-end group resist buff (Heat, Cold, Matter) is now obtainable at level 43 instead of 46.
    • Please note that a respec will need to be performed to see this change.
  • Champion's debuff functionality has been changed to work like list-caster debuffs on buffed targets. Overall this will result in less stats being removed from Champion-debuffed targets than before even though the delves will remain the same.
    • The re-use timers on Champion debuffs have been reduced from 20s to 15s.
  • Warlock's Witchcraft specialization Anguish and Agony damage over time spells have had their frequencies reduced as follows:
    • Anguish DoTs will now tick once every 5 seconds instead of every 4 seconds, the duration remains unchanged at 30s.
    • Agony DoTs will now tick once every 3.5s instead of every 3 seconds, the duration remains unchanged at 25s.
  • Hunter's Point Blank Shot's pulsing blade turn frequencies have been reduced as follows:
    • Point Blank Shot 1 pulses once every 12s instead of 10s now.
    • Point Blank Shot 2 pulses once every 10s instead of 8s now.
    • Point Blank Shot 3 pulses once every 8s instead of 6s now.
  • Vampiir's Summon Night's Servant spell now costs 250 power instead of 300.
    • On summon, the pet now fires a group buff that counts down its duration. This buff is removed if the pet dies, is released, or its 5 minute duration timer ends.

1.121 Realm Ability Respecs

Posted by John Thornhill | 2016 Jul 26 14:06 -0400 GMT
Greetings!

Patch 1.121 is live and we're seeing some amazing response and action out in the frontiers!

However, there has been an issue with the forced realm ability respecs that were supposed to have been given out with the patch. Without extensive server downtime, there is no way to address this and so we'd like to make you aware of the following and offer a free realm respec stone to all characters:
  • A new free realm respec stone (Luminescent Induco Stone) is being given out by Royal Accountants (in Caer Berkstead, Nottmoor Faste, Dun Crimthainn, or in the capital cities) to all characters. Simply say [ready] to the Royal Accountant to receive it!
  • Classes that should have received a Realm Ability Respec in 1.121 did not receive one. In order to see the changes made in 1.121 all characters of that class should visit their trainers and perform a /respec realm in order to receive the RA changes.
  • Classes that received free realm abilities like Charge, Vanish, or Mastery of Stealth correctly received the new free version. However, the free version overwrote the RA-version without refunding the realm skill points. These classes should also visit their trainer to perform a /respec realm as soon as they can.

Cheers,

Dark Age of Camelot team

Producer’s note:

Friends,

This patch is one of our most ambitious yet – and that’s saying something with a whole new zone and campaign launched just two patches ago! We’ve taken a look at almost every single one of the 45 classes in the game and many of those have received significant updates. If your class is one of the few not in these notes, fret not, we’ll be looking at it closely next patch. We haven’t just stopped at classes either, we’ve delivered a brand new keep–warfare contribution system, siege system overhaul and widespread improvements to crafting as well!

Many of these ideas were cultivated by you, the community, through your work and feedback on the class and RvR podcasts over the past half year and during our testing phase on Pendragon. We couldn’t be happier with how the notes have turned out. Our team is delighted to bring you an EPIC update to the game – we’ll see you on the battlefield!

Onward,

John Thornhil
Producer
Dark Age of Camelot

Pendragon Kill Kenny Event Winners

Posted by Community | 2016 Jul 11 09:55 -0400 GMT
Thanks so much to everyone who came out on Saturday to help test patch 1.121 and to take part in a really really fun event! Hectic, maybe even a little chaotic, but incredibly fun. Even if the aim was my death, over and over, and over...and over. You guys really liked that part!

Thoroughly enjoyed, though :)

We even managed to run the event twice, giving away lots of bracers, and also 3 one month game timecodes.Yay!

Bracer Winners

Ulfrika and their group (Mid's 1st deathblow)
Usetactics and their group (Hib's 1st deathblow)
Norezzforu and their group (Alb's 1st deathblow)
Odinbjorn and their group (Mid's 2nd deathblow)
Ashketchem and their group (Alb's 2nd deathblow)
Elendhriel and their group (Hib's 2nd deathblow)
Plzkillkennyforme and their group (most kills - loved the name!)
Korkhe and their group (most heals)
Riddles and their group (most deathblows)

Timecode Winners

Apergia
Mrsbluecandlestickbe
Alkyynyn

Timecodes have all been issued, and all but a couple of the bracers delivered. If you are one of those who hasn't received their bracer yet, check the email you sent us on Saturday and get in touch (same email) - you forgot to tell us what live server character is to receive the bracer!

Also thanks to Lea for streaming the event. You can watch that back on our official YouTube channel here:

Congrats to all the winners, and many thanks again to all of the participants for their testing and feedback on 1.121!

Pendragon Playtest Fun: Kill Kenny!

Posted by Community | 2016 Jul 07 09:36 -0400 GMT
Kill Kenny... as in kill ME! Ever wanted to get me back for those perfectly timed screenshots of your death that I shared? Or your group wiping in that embarassing way that one time on my stream?! I do love traps :)

Well here's your chance!

On Saturday, July 9th, at 3 PM EST/8PM GMT/9PM CET I'll be holding an RvR playtest event on Pendragon's Ellan Vannin. All players are welcome, so please come along and drag your guildies/friends out for some fun. The object of this event is to get the deathblow on me! Some of you old timers might remember this event from years back :)

Here’'s how it will work:

  • Copy your favorite RvR Character to Pendragon sometime this week. For instructions on copying your character over, go here.
  • At 3PM EST/9PM CET on Saturday, July 9th, please assemble at your realm's milegate on Ellan Vannin. I'll do a "/who Ellan Vannin" for each realm.
  • Round 1: A random group will be chosen from the realm with the highest number of players. That group will be the Protectors of Carol for Round 1 (you'’ll need to invite me to your group). When the signal is given, groups from the other two realms will try to rush in for the kill. Whoever gets the killing blow on me for Round 1 will win a PENDRAGON'S BRACER for themselves and everyone in their group!
  • Round 2: Carol will join the winning group from Round 1, and the other two realms will have a chance. Whoever gets the deathblow on me for Round 2 will win a PENDRAGON'S BRACER for themselves and everyone in their group!
  • Round 3: Carol will join the winning group from Round 2, and give the final realm a chance to win a PENDRAGON'S BRACER. This round will continue until the winning group is from the remaining realm. (In other words, if Midgard wins round 1 and Hibernia wins Round 2, then Round 3 will go on until the Deathblow comes from Albion.)
  • We will also be giving away a 1 month DAoC game timecode to one lucky player from each realm!
    • Members of groups who won a Pendragon's Bracer will not be able to win a time code.
    • Groups, or individuals who were part of a winning group, cannot win a round more than once.
    • Winners of Pendragon's Bracer will get to choose 1 character on the Live servers to receive the item. Character must be level 45+.
  • Event will be streamed on our official DAoC Twitch channel.

By the end of the event only three groups will have won, one from each realm.

Will yours be the winning group? Will I pay dearly for this?! Bring your best (or worst) and see!

Pendragon Hot Fix - Bug Fixes and 1.121d

Posted by John Thornhill | 2016 Jul 01 16:25 -0400 GMT
The following Hot Fix Notes are now up on the Pendragon server!

Please note that we have not fixed several known bugs with this update that will require server downtime or further investigation. These bugs will be fixed at a later time, and prior to 1.121 going to the Live servers:

  • Assassin mesmerization poison proc not affecting their current target
  • Purge not properly clearing CC immunity timers
  • Several mouse-related client issues
Be sure to check out the fixes and changes that did make it into 1.121d below!

Important Note:
  • We highly suggest separating out your normal game directory from your Pendragon game directory *before* patching and testing on Pendragon.
    • If you do not do this, you *will* experience issues when patching back to live.
      • To force the live client to fix these issues, you will need to delete the mft.myp in your game's directory and run the patcher again.
For those interested in testing on Pendragon, follow the character copy process here!
